When you work with your family, business is personal.

I help family businesses—and everyone in them—communicate more clearly, preserve their relationships, set healthy boundaries, and ensure they leave a powerful legacy.

In the world of business, familiar phrases like "It's not personal, it's just business" and "Don't mix personal matters with professional affairs" are often heard. These clichés, though prevalent, feel increasingly out of touch as businesses evolve to become more people-centered, particularly when it comes to family-owned enterprises.

Family-owned businesses play a vital role in both local and national economies, constituting over 35% of Fortune 500 companies and a significant portion of privately-owned small businesses in the United States. Despite their prominence, only 40% of these businesses successfully transition to the second generation, with just 13% making it to a third, and a mere 3% enduring to a fourth or beyond. The primary obstacle to this transition is often the intricacies of family dynamics. Conflicts within the family can disrupt succession plans, leading to disagreements over business operations and growth, ultimately eroding trust. My role is to offer guidance and coaching to all members of a family business, including leaders, family members working within the business, and non-family personnel, to navigate these challenges and ensure a thriving, forward-focused enterprise.

There are plenty of coaches out there—but not many understand family dynamics.

I’m a coach second, and a psychologist first. I come with decades of experience in child and family psychology and a deep understanding of brain science in leadership. This background equips me to effectively support family business owners and their leadership teams. In family businesses, bridging the personal and professional realms is vital, making leadership development and team dynamics crucial. My role is to serve as your guide, aiding in daily operations and significant discussions such as succession planning, scaling, and transitions; all while fostering improved communication, a thriving work culture, and enhanced emotional intelligence within your leadership team, ensuring the longevity of both your relationships and the business your family has built.
